""A Home Away From Home"" 6/23/2009
Stayed On: 6/2009My husband and I recently stayed at the Tower House B & B. This is simply a delightful place to visit. The house is warm and inviting as are the innkeepers, Mary Beth & Chris. The lovely Victorian is decorated in a manner which reflects days gone by. However, the mattress and pillows are brand new and extremely comfortable. We awoke to find coffee outside our room as the aroma of our breakfast wafted up the stairs. The meal did not disappoint. The grounds are secluded and lush. Adirondack chairs and other comfortable lawn furniture are scattered around the property. The outdoor environment is peaceful and relaxing. We have already booked another trip! I highly recommend staying at the Tower House B and B.

It was my husband & my 1st time at a B&B. Arrived on a holiday weekend(Memorial Day).Stayed 3 nights. The Tower House was beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside. The grounds are immaculate & well landscaped. Plenty of lawn chairs and tables to sit outside or on the patio/deck. Private parking was available. The house was big & had lots of lounge areas to relax and chill out. The room we stayed in was the master suite w/a private bath. The room was exceptional. It was clean & huge. The bedroom was secluded & seperate from the huge bathroom. There was also a sitting area w/a table w/goodies. The bed was comfy with clean linens, flat screen tv, bathrobe, & all the home amenities. Breakfast was amazing & everyday there was something different (ex: eggs, quiche, pancakes, waffles, doughnuts, bagels, fresh fruit,oj,coffee, tea, hash browns,bacon,sausage,etc.). Also, in the morning outside your room you could find the newspaper of your choice and coffee or tea. What was great about breakfast was it was served btwn 8-10am. Then, there was a happy hour from 5-6pm & there was always wine, beer, and appetizers(cheese, crackers, veggies w/dip,etc.). The best part of this beautiful secluded B&B were the innkeepers, Marybeth and Chris. They made our stay excellent!! They were attentive and always informative about any info we needed on Rhode Island. They also offer a shuttle service to local attractions. They took us to the Point Judith ferry so we can catch a ferry to Block Island and also picked us up. If we needed beach chairs & towels for the beach they were also available to us. The B&B is located in the historic pier section of Narragansett. It was close to the beach, restaurants, & small outdoor mall. On the property there was a dog that was one of the most loveable, friendly, & well behaved dogs we have ever seen. Had a great and relaxing time at this beautiful B&B & we will definitely be back!!!!

As a family of four traveling to Rhode Island from Bermuda, we were lucky enough to find a gem of a place to stay in Narragansett called “The Tower House”. The proprietors Chris & Mary Beth Kreger were absolutely fantastic and made us feel right at home. They had all the amenities available for us...chairs, toys and even shuttle to the beach. Chris thanks so much for lending my eldest son a boogie board. He loved riding the waves! After the beach it was great to use the basketball hoop and then watch a little TV while taking a Jacuzzi...Virginia loved meandering through the rose garden and chilling on the porch reading her book.
Being British we were fascinated to find a letter posted on the wall in the front room from Queen Elizabeth II thanking the Tower House for hosting children during the WWII. However, regardless of historic nature of the house, the rooms are very cheery and very comfortable.
Liked the fact the Tower House has a baby sitting service that allowed me to feel comfortable enough to get a dinner alone with my wife and a walk on the beach.
If you are looking for a place to stay in Narragansett I would highly recommend booking “The Tower House” today. Chris & Mary Beth will make your stay enjoyable, memorable and we are looking forward to going back. They go the distance to attend to your every need. Customer service was 110 %
Cheers,

See you this summer Chris & Mary Beth!

The house was charming and the rooms comfortably and beautifully appointed. The suite was spacious and yet cozy. We loved the paintings of Mary Beth and Chris's children in the living room, and the grounds were lovely. The other reviews do not exaggerate about the quality of the breakfasts. We so enjoyed our hosts' wonderful skills in the kitchen. Most important for us, though, was the fondness we felt for Mary Beth during our stay and in our memories of our visit. Her warmth and kindness were generous and genuine. We had a lovely day with our family on Thanksgiving day, but we were still happy to return to the B&B to enjoy its ambiance at about 6 pm. By 9 pm we were surprised to find that we were hungry, so we tiptoed downstairs to see if there were any crackers to be found. Mary Beth heard that we were hungry and brought out some of her family's fabulous turkey, mashed potatoes, and sweet potato pie. (Chris had barbecued a a luscious bird.) We' will certainly plan to return to visit our new friends in Narragansett as soon as we can.

Normally I prefer a small hotel over a B&B because I like a certain amount of privacy and anonymity but my friend found these accommodations and I decided to go with the flow. From my first contact with Mary Beth on the phone, I was impressed by her relaxed and friendly manner. During our three-night visit, she couldn't have been more hospitable. She offered in advance to add a second bed to our room and even with the additional bed, Caldwell was very spacious. The bathroom, with double sinks, was also large. Coffee and newspaper outside our door was our favorite luxury. Breakfasts were huge and delicious. We were happy to be just a few minutes from the beach and appreciated that beach chairs and towels were provided. We had our afternoon drinks in garden. In the evening, Mary Beth and her family gave us directions to various restaurants. Everywhere we went the seafood was so fresh and the atmosphere friendly and casual. There were always chocolates on our pillows and bottled water and snacks replenished in our room. For a summer weekend getaway close to home, I don't think we could have done any better! P.S.- We happened to notice some jewelry in an antique case. It turns out that aside from being a gifted host, Mary Beth is also a talented jeweler. She is far too modest to mention this or try and sell you anything but my friend asked if she could purchase a necklace and of course Mary Beth kindly agreed.

Every two years, our family unites in Narragansett for a family reunion. While some of us live in RI, many are in Chicago. This year, we decided to try to find a family-friendly B&B instead of renting a house and having to shop for food, cook, clean, and rent everything from linens to beach chairs. We wanted a TRUE vacation. When we found Tower House B&B online, we thought it was too good to be true. But when we spoke to Mary Beth and Chris about our many needs, we knew we had found a very special home to stay. Our family took over Tower House for a week in early August. With us came two small children and many requests: Can we store our bottles and baby food in your fridge? Can we invite additional family guests over for breakfast and dinner? Can you babysit for us? Can you provide an extra bed in one of our rooms? Can you cook meals for us? With each of our many requests, Chris and Mary Beth were extraordinarily accommodating. They met all of our needs and more. I've never experienced this level of service. From driving us to/from the beach, to the cocktail hours, to the amazing breakfasts and dinners, to the classic children's toys, we relished every minute. This B&B is an east coast gem, exemplary in every way. We were not ready to leave, and can't wait for our next family gathering here. Thank you Chris and Mary Beth! --The Smyths

We came to the Tower House with high expectations after reading the first reviews and seeing their website - Well, all of our expectations were surpassed! The rooms are lovely, cozy and tastefully arranged. The service is simply outstanding - When we checked in, a little late, the beer and wine we would've gotten in the afternoon was waiting in a cooler in our room. Breakfast, of course, was delicious too - and there was lots of it! The only downside to our stay was that we only had two nights... The area around Narragansett is really beautiful with beaches as well as rockier shores (and great lighthouses!)... But the Tower House itself would have demanded for more time to explore and enjoy - a beautiful garden and wonderful rooms that just make you want to sit down and grab a book (in case you don't have one, you're likely to find one there). What makes the stay special is not only the amazing house but also the warm reception by Chris and Mary. All in all, we can only say that the Tower House is not just a great accomodation for your trip to Rhode Island, but in itself a great reason for a holiday!
